I can't post the HJT log. what ever has taken over my system closes my security programs when I try to run them. It also closed the HJT log before I could deal with it. Now it won't let me do another one. The virus or whatever has also disabled my system restore. Tonight I found that it has disabled or won't let me go to Internet Explorer. Seems that everything I do makes it more vicious. This has been going on since Saturday 09/19/2009.
Any ideas or should I just wipe my HD and reinstall XP??
I'm using another computer to post this request. The infected one is becoming a great paperweight.

Thanks for any help or advice..

Hello.
Do you get an error about permission being denied?

I get a msg. similar to that. It tells me the path something or other is wrong or cant be found. That Msg. happens after it kills a security program and I retry. Now it is doing it to IE and it won't let me do a HJT log.

Hello.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs.

    Java(TM) 6 Update 7

How is the machine running now?

I uninstalled Java(TM) 6 Update 7
I still can't get to IE. Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition ran for about 40 mins without being kicked off and found 4 items that it quarentined.
System Restore is working now too.
I guess I should remove and reinstall IE?
I won't do anything until I get the ok from you..

I don't recommend IE anyway.

Please consider using an alternate browser. Mozilla's Firefox browser is fantastic; it is much more secure than Internet Explorer, immune to almost all known browser hijackers, and also has the best built-in popup blocker (as an added benefit!) that I have ever seen. If you are interested, Firefox may be downloaded from here:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
I also recommand the following add-ons for Firefox, they will help keep you safe from malicious scripts or activeX exploits.

I have Mozilla and Netscape on that machine I will update Firefox and try it for a while.
Was the Java program a rogue or malware of some kind? I know Java can be a little flakey maybe my computer just didn't like conflicting versions running.
If you don't see the need for me to do anything else concerning this issue I will check my programs and apps. and run some scans.
Thank you very much for your help..
