Hi All,

First of all, thank you for reading.

I got the BSOD on November 4th. When the computer restarted, I chose to read the error log and took a screen shot. I tried to do a system restore to a late October date but after doing it I got a message that no changes were made. After that I did not try to do a restore to another earlier date (please let me know if I should).

I got the BSOD again today. I took another screenshot of the log and also got additional technical information. It doesn't look like I have an option to attach a file so I'll paste the 11/4 and 11/9 information here.

11/4:

Error signature:

BCCode: 1000008e BCP1: C0000005 BCP2: BF952C39 BCP3: A88F9C00 BCP4: 00000000 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 3_0 Product: 768_1

I did not grab the technical information.

11/9:

Error signature:

BCCode: 1000008e BCP1: C0000005 BCP2: BF8124D9 BCP3: A82209CC BCP4: 00000000 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 3_0 Product: 768_1

Technical information:
The following files will be included in this error report:

C:\DOCUME~1\Yenna\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERdbec.dir00\Mini110909-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Yenna\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERdbec.dir00\sysdata.xml

Thank you again for reading!

Hi,
Blue Screen of Dead could be caused by corrupted Hard Disc or some other component of your computer. But, in some cases it's only "bad part" of hard disc, which we could fix or better ignore. So, lets try to get hard disc back as first step.

  • Insert your Windows CD into the DVD/CD drive and restart your computer.
  • When you receive the message "press any key to continue.." , press any button on the keyboard.
  • When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen,
you will see the options below:

  1. To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
  2. To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.
  3. To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

  • Please, DO NOT choose 2nd step!
  • Press Enter to start first step, and accept License Agreement.
  • Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start repair.
  • Setup will copy the necessary files(which was damaged on your Hard Disc), to the hard drive and
    reboot.
  • Let Windows to boot normally, don't press any key till you see Welcome Screen.
Let me know if you fix problem.

This is on an Acer Aspire One AOA-1577 netbook. I also don't have an XP cd. I lack an external cd drive. Any other things I can do?

Thanks so much!

Okay, without Windows CD, we are nothing.

First of all you should know, it could be caused :

  • Device driver problems - when new hardware is added to the computer,
the device drivers may not be compatible.
  • New software installed may also cause a problem, so uninstall any
new software. Viruses and spy ware can also cause problems, so ensure that
you have the latest version of antivirus software installed and check your computer regularly.
  • Hardware problems the most. Computer components like the CPU, RAM start
malfunctioning after some time, especially if you use your computer for
more than 10 hours a day.
So, lets go to next step.

  • Restart your computer, on starting up press F8 key to get to Safe Mode.
  • Please, do not press ESC or some other key till computer booting in Safe Mode.
  • Get into My Computer, right click on C: partition select Properties.
  • Go to Tools tab, click on Error- Checking > Check Now.. button and select both methods and press Start.
  • If it ask you to restart your computer, do it.
Wait till checking finish, and tell me results, did you get to Desktop normally Smile...
