Slow computer

Yes my computer seems really slow when i try to get on the web. It seems to load ok maybe a little slow and once i get on the web it seems ok but once everything is loaded and I go to get on the web it takes up to a minute to connect once I bunch on whatever icon I choice to get on the web. Please download the latest version of Kaspersky GetSystemInfo (GSI) from Kaspersky.fr and save it to your Desktop.

• Please close all other applications running on your system.
  
• Please double click GetSystemInfo.exe to open it.
  
• Click the Settings button.
  
• Set it to Maximum
  
• IMPORTANT! Then please click Customize - choose Driver / Ports tab and
• Uncheck Scan Ports.
  
• Click Create Report to run it.
  
• It will create a zip folder called GetSystemInfo_XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.zip on your Desktop. Please upload the folder to Kaspersky GSI Parser and click the Submit button.
  

Please copy and paste the url of the GSI Parser report (not the log) in your next reply.

My guess for the culprit of the slowdown is Spyware Terminator. The fact that it is a former rogue software is one part of the issue, the other is the framework it is built on.

The framework of the program is built to handle resources and memory in a more heavy format, which makes it difficult to run another realtime protection program at the same time. If you want to boost the speed of your computer, either remove Spyware Terminator or disable its realtime protection.

Whenever I had Spyware Terminator in the past, the program was strong and it had a good database of known spyware. It seemed to have slowed my computer down by 5% and reduced my network speed by 30%. I had an antivirus realtime protection on alongside it.

Let me know what you do.

Ok I downloaded the new driver and took the terminator completely off the computer. I still have SUPERAntiSpyware but have the real time off plus have Adware doing real time along with AVG. Oh also have Malwarebytes but also no real time scanning. By the way it did help some but is still slow. Also was wondering if Comcast is known for little freezes here and there. Seems like I have a good amount of them. They don't usually last more then a few seconds but annoying as ever. Thanks.

Are you talking about high-speed Internet for Comcast? That would be marked with QOS (Quality-Of-Service) problems. Call your ISP and ask them about boosting QOS. They may be able to help for free, depending on if it is a technical problem on your end or on their end. If it is on their end, it is no surprise. I have heard so many customers of Comcast complaining about the unfair QOS. If it is a problem on your end, and they want to charge you, do not pay/say no. Reply back here with what they say, as I might be able to help configure things on your side. Most of the QOS settings are either in your modem, or router (if you have one).

Ok I don't think they were much help. One guy wasn't sure what I meant by QOS. Anyways they said the setting looked to be all right from their end. They suggested disabling auto updates on various programs and to switch browsers, said firefox was known for this and of course doing power cycling.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from here.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

Does it work faster? Or still lag?

Ok comcast told me it was 12 mb. I ran a couple of different speed test and came up with a a big difference. one was 19000 kbs and another tested at 9000 kbs with both uploads around 3000kbs. Anyway I set it at about 14000 and it does seem to be faster.

Also, speeds may vary depending on the distance of the servers you are testing (if you are referring to speedtest.net)

Like I said seems to be a little faster searching and going from page to page with a few less little freeze ups but still seems to load slowly. Let me use it for a day and i will let you know what I think. Thanks.
