Hi. I'm experiencing quite a frustrating problem. One of the computers here has become infected with Total Security. I used Malwarebytes last week to remove it and all seemed to go well. The same user either has gotten it again or it was never fully gone, I don't know which.
In any case, it's come back with a vengeance. This time around, I can open no other program. That's technically not true. I can open a program but it immediately closes. Including the Task Manager and regedit. Given this, I figured it'd be better to proceed in safe mode. Each time I try to start in safe mode, however, the computer reboots in the middle of preparing the files to start the operating system.
I'm truly at a loss here. I'm not sure what I can do. Have any ideas?
Edit: I have tried to install other programs to help in disinfection, as well. Even after renaming the installation program before transferring it to the infected PC, I can not run the executable.
