User Accounts not working

I have the same problem on all computers in my house - whenever I click on User Accounts in my Control Panel, the little hourglass comes on, but it never opens. PLEASE HELP!

I can't think of anything causing it here. Only other thing is a malware related problem, but it seems you have already been cleaned.


Try this again:

Start >> Run >> Type in regsvr32 jscript.dll >> OK.

Execute these two commands:

regsvr32 nusrmgr.cpl
regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll

on the last command line i get an error message

Milton, looks like this user's got hpwiz.com, winlogon trojan, & an autorun.inf trojan, unless I'm missing something, e.g., s/he got that stuff cleaned up? I didn't see a post requesting the post to be moved to the virus/malware thread, but it looks to me as if that's where it needs to go cuz this user's infected bigtime, unless, as I said, u addressed that over there & I didn't see it. esvraka, if your highjackthis log was not addressed in the virus/malware board, then that is where it needs to go. I'm not permitted to assist w/it. But my guess is that this is why your user accounts are not working. Once cleaned up, things will probably work ok, unless the malware trashes Windows. Since your computers are likely on a network, I rather suspect all of them have similar problems.
