hello,
I have one question. You'll probably going to laugh but I don't know much of computers.
Few months ago I infected my laptop with some sort of virus which caused serious errors. I can't open programs anymore, just windows explorer, internet explorer, word and simillar. Laptop is pretty new so I don't have any data on it that are very important.
Can I somehow take my xp where it was when I bought it? Taking it to the store for a fix is rather expensive so I'm wondering what can I do alone at home...

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

I have restore instructions for specific PC brands, but I need to know first, what is the brand of your PC?

I tried that F10 thing...it doesn't open recovery console to me...just some security things, boot options etc.

Hello,

Try this instead: Start >> All Programs >> HP Tools >> HP PC System Recovery.

Hello,

Have you ever deleted your recovery partition before? Do you have your recovery discs?

No, I haven't and no, I don't have recovery discs.

Hello,

Then I'm afraid there's no other way. You'll have to call HP up and get your recovery discs from them.
