I have posted before about the problems I experience with my computer. I appreciate all of the hard work and your time but I became hopeless and even more-so now. I called to have McAfee reinstall my program that my husband had purchased last year...I needed assistance because I kept getting redirecting online, etc. The technician was having difficulty as well and informed me that it was because of "very dangerous malware, adware and it will destroy your computer". Next thing you know, I shelled over $89.95 (I'm unemployed and broke) to have it fixed remotely by a professional.
I'm not sure if he realized I was watching him...he deleted about 10 files, performed a quick scan and restored all of my defaults within my Internet Options folder. I thought he took a break, but he never came back- he was done. Total time- 15 mins. at best. I called McAfee and he cliamed that our computer is now virus-free. I told them that I could have had my neighbor come over and do a better job than that for free. ( After an hour of arguing, I got a refund )
Long story short- we still can't download McAfee (even though we are "virus-free") and our computer will not allow me to download or open any applications now. A very commom error popup "The system could not find the environment option that was entered". This warning pops up on almost everything I try to open. The McAfee technician also left folder up and open on my desktop. There is so much information and so many codes that I have searched online for---all bad. Why did they leave us hanging? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize our computer is infected.
Is it time to wipe it clean? ( I don't know the terminology ) Thank you for reading! Tigerlilly
