Ok, I got the system security virus... I think that I got it when I was away for four days and my stinking brother got on my computer and messed it up... Evil or enraged So when I first saw system security I thought it was real so I was thinking of buying it... :con: But! Luckily I didn't have any money so I didn't. Yikes So I started to freak out because it said that I had 38 viruses. (Even though I only had one...) So I started to see all of the pop-ups and then I started to think, "Hey, why isn't it trying to fix my computer?" So I searched up on Internet Explorer, because my FireFox wouldn't work because System security has infected A LOT of my files... So when I searched it up I found that System security is really a virus, so I started to look at all of these different types of ways to help get rid of it, one of them did help, but didn't remove the virus, one I think could remove it, but I didn't know how to remove it, so I tried to look all over, but the virus is starting to infect my computer really bad, Sad tearing (It's been over a week and a half now since I got it.) So on one site it had all these ways to fix it, but I couldn't do them, (Not that smart when it comes to computers, even thought I'd like to be... :con: ) and one of the solutions was to download malwarebytes anti-malware. I already have it, and when I scanned it, it said I had no infections... So I was hoping that someone here could please help me fix this stupid problem, because I've only found a way to stop it, not remove it... Sad tearing

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

  • Double click and run the installer.
  • It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  • After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  • Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

Well, this is what came up, so what should I do now? And this is completely safe right? (I'm just asking because I'm doing this by myself and usually I have help from my family on stuff like this.)

Hello.

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [13356094] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\13356094\13356094.exe

  • Press "Fix Checked"
  • Close Hijack This.

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

Ok, I did the Hijack this scan now, if I already have Anti-malware should I download it again? Or can I just use the one I have?

descriptionSystem Security 2009....Again! EmptyRe: System Security 2009....Again!

Use the one you have, just make sure it's updated.

  • Please download DDS by sUBs to your Desktop (Important!!) from one of these locations:
    Link 1
    Link 2
  • Double click DDS.scr to run.
  • When complete, two logs will open. Save both of the report to your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste DDS.txt back here, I don't need to see attach.txt.

This is what came up, and now I'm stuck.

As per the instructions you would have received, kindly ensure any onboard
script blocking tools have been disabled for they shall interfere with DDS.

DDS is a non-invasive diagnostic tool.

- DDS makes no registry writes/changes

- DDS does not create any permanent files/folders.

This scan should not take longer than three minutes to complete.

When the scan is complete, a logfile/report shall pop open.

Post the contents of the logfile to the forum where it was requested

We only require it to run just once. Dispose after use.

Hello.
Can you post the other report too? [attach.txt?]

To save them, when they open, go to File > Save as in Notepad.

And, where is the notepad? Or is that what I save it as? (Sorry, I'm in my teens, so I'm not that smart when it comes to this stuff...)

Hmm.
I think we need to run DDS again, both logs came out half empty.

Ugh... This is getting complicated for me... But! I'll try, so should I click on the link that I didn't use to install the DDS?
