Thanks for the many welcomes. I found a fix to my problem from a previous post on this site - it was the win32/nuquel.e thing and I managed to get rid of it by downloading malwarebytes' antimalware.

Hopefully that's sorted it and I won't have need to visit here again! I'm not very computer-minded!!!

Actually I don't seem to have quite cleaned up my computer. I use the free AVG security system which flags up as a threat "Found tracking cookie" but then "removes threat" after any website with advertising on it that I visit.

Is this a serious problem? Is there a download/patch (or something!) that can get rid of this?

Hello,

Most of them cookies are harmless but there's an easy solution. Get Firefox (if you haven't already) and download this add-on called Adblock plus. Block all the ads.
