descriptionSolvedCant defrag hard drive

My hard drive is growling at me so i googled possible reasons and one was that it prolly needed to be defraged so i tried and it wont let me.
So then i was told to go start>>run>>chkdsk c:/f
So i did and this is the message i got:
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to to shedual this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)
I did yes then restarted. Nothing happened and i still cant defrag!
How can i stop this thing from growling at me and why cant i defrag my hard drive?
Thanks for all the help!!!!
I also have to say thanks to the geekpolice for helping me get rid of that F'in Winbluesoft what a pain that was. Hijackthis got rid of it instantly. Thanks Thanks Thanks

Most probably because a malware disabled page files on your system. To enable page files:
    1. Start the Control Panel System applet (go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and click System).
    2. Select the Advanced tab.
    3. Under the Performance section, click Settings.
    4. Select the Advanced tab.
    5. Under the Virtual Memory section, click Change.
    6. Select Automatically Manage Paging Files For All Drives.
    7. Click OK.

If it doesn't work, how much free space do you have on the drive you are trying to defrag?

Also have you tried a chkdsk? Start >> Run >> CMD /K chkdsk c: /r

I did both to no avail when i did the chkdsk your way it says the same thing that i put in my original post. also under the area where you sent me in the system i dont have a specific virtual memory area it is just general and my choices were automatically let windows configure, adjust for performance, adjust for appearence and custom. I still cant defrag and i have about 73% open on the hard drive.
