instaling Avgfree 8.5 & Removing old Anti-Virus

Hi i have got Windows xp profesional edition i m trying to dowload the Avg free 8.5 antivirus but in order to do so i think need to remove parts of the old antivirus to include:live reg(symantec corporation), Norton systems works 2004 professional & Norton System doctor.When i try to remove live reg it says symantec live reg cannot remove at this time because the following application requires these componets:Norton systems works 2004 & Norton password manager,i ve tried downloading the norton password manager but to no availe.My computer is running very slow despite conducting a de-fragmentation any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
