Till two days ago my speakers were working fine and now suddenly one speaker works on my laptop...The other one comes and goes....I think from all where I try to get help that it seems my audio devices may be messed up and need reinstalling....I have realtek Audio Imput/Device and Realtek High Definition Audio. I do not know anything about computers and hence do not know how to do reinstalling etc and what to reinstall but I went into device manger and under sound video and game controllers these are the things I see

Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Devices
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control devices
Realtek High Definition Audio
Video Codecs

Please help

You know, it could simply be a problem with the wiring. Sometimes the issue is what we don't expect.

Figure out what audio device you have and search google eg.
If you have realtek 5625 search google for 'download audio driver realtek 5625' or let xp auto update your driver.
But as previous post suggests, it could be wiring or worst case broken soldering

If updating the driver does not work, first i would suggest buying speakers due to the fact it may be a motherboard problem.
