While looking up pictures on Google my [other] computer went to the site; my-private-protection.com/1/?id=2015&query=a683a922b&back=%3DTQw0jT3NEQNMI%3DM

In a pop-up, it was a warning that my computer was infected and said click 'ok' for a scan. 'Ok' was the only button that could be clicked. After about a 15 second it told me that my shared doctuments had 6 trojans, My Documents had 101 trojans, Local Dist (C:) had 346 trojans, et cetra. A pop-up then came up called 'Windows Security Alert' it is written in poor English. When I try to exit out it gives me a pop-up that says 'Don't close this window if your want you PC to be clean.' then gives me the choices of clicking 'ok', 'cancel', or just exiting out. If you click Cancel it comes up saying 'Harmful and malicious software detected. These programs may damage your computer and steal your private information. Online Security Scanner requires Personal Antivirus componets to repair your computer. Please click OK to download and install Personal Antivirus tool.'

If you click OK, a download file opens asking me to either run it, save it or cancel it.

Also, I am running windows xp on the computer with the virus. I used my Alta Vista computer to explain the problem to you. Didn't know if that might be important.

Try running MBAM:


Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

• When Hijack This opens, click "Open the Misc Tools section"
  
• Then select "Open Uninstall Manager"
  
• Click on "Save List..." (generates uninstall_list.txt)
  
• Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.
