Yesterday I ran the typical computer maintenance programs: a virus scan (f-secure online scan), disk defrag, Microsoft update, and finally, ad-aware and spybot. I typically do these procedures once every month. Well, the virus scan found a trojan and removed it. (and don't ask, because I forgot to write the name of the trojan down. figured since it was removed, no big deal.) I also "immunized" my system via Spybot, which is something I hadn't done for awhile.
Anyhow, since having done this, I find every program I load, every web page I download, is incredibly slow. And some of the web pages won't load at all. (I had to go to safe mode to get to geek police.) Finally, I tried to use "system restore" at two different points, thinking I could go back to before I did my maintenance tasks, and I got the message that system restore was not able to be completed.
Any suggestions?
