Solved New windows opening

Post by TeReX on Mon 16 Jun 2008, 5:17 pm

I tried some folder directory printing trial software, my folders no longer open in the same window when I open a subfolder. I’ve made sure that the option to 'open in same window' in Folder Options is activated, but this is ignored by the system. Can you tell me if there is a Registry change I can make to be sure the problem is solved?

Before doing anything to the registry I suggest you backup up your registry, learn how to do it from here

Click Start -> Run, type regedit and press [Return]. Browse to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell. Right-click the (Default) value in the right-hand window and select Delete. The value should be reset with no data, and when you close Regedit the problem should be solved.
