Can't remove older Quicktime

"The older version of Quicktime cannot be removed." This is the message I get when I try to update Quicktime. What do I need to do to remove the older version?

hello,
have you tried uninstalling from the Add/Remove Programs tool?
then if you can do that, then you can go ahead and just install the latest version.

Add or remove programs won't let me remove it either.

another way is to open up quicktime itself and see if there is an uninstall option if you can't remove with "add/remove programs"
