FlashBlock review

Post by Belahzur on Fri 19 Jun 2009, 6:35 pm

FlashBlock

    - The Good -

Another nice and simple add-on to block flash from loading on websites, again this gives you the advantage of the website loading faster, and keeps you safe at the same time.
You can whitelist a website you want to be as trusted simply by typing in the website address, then hit the "Add" button.

Incase of allowing flash to load on a website you don't want to load, it will alert you with a "are you sure" type box in case you hit something you didn't want to.

To allow flash on a site for just once, just click the flash part of the site and allow it when you get the alert box.

    - The Bad -

    No bad points found.

    - The bottom line -

Again, FlashBlock just gives you that one extra bit of security if you are sure you want to keep a clean machine.

    - Rating -

10/10, so easy to use and configure.

I find that flash files make the web more interactive, seldom do I need to block them.

The only ones I block are ads.

although useful for the purposes intended, we cannot all remember every single website we visit, and when we wish to watch a clip/play a game, we have to think of every damned website we go on and unblock them!
The Bad is how annoying it can get, i just deleted it after a while,i got fed up with things not loading, especially long videos, normally you leave them a bit to load, but if you forget you have Fblocker on, you have to wait still even more
