Adblock Plus

- The Good -

Adblock Plus is a fantastic tool and add-on for Firefox, it allows you to block internet ads, block un-wanted images, which generally speeds up loading time on websites.
It's easy to configure and has a set list of known ad suppliers to block so you don't have to input anything.
Adblock Plus is easy to turn off as some websites that use flash gets blocked by Adblock Plus too. You can set it to be turned off on just one website, or turned off all together with just one click of your mouse!



Adblock Plus also helps keep you safe from malicious ads that try to load infected .PDF files onto your machine without warning. If the ads don't load, infected files can't load.

- The Bad -

When blocking a custom image you want to block, it has an auto setting that blocks images using a wildcard, which blocks every image in whatever folder it's coming from, rather than just the one image you want. To do this, you have to change the setting from that, to custom set, which after awhile gets more annoying, then hit okay.



- The bottom line -

I would definitely recommend Adblock Plus, fantastic add-on and doesn't cause any problems what-so-ever, it's even compatible in newer versions of Firefox, like the 3.5 version, it works fine!

- Rating -

I give this add-on an 8/10. If it wasn't for the one option that needs changing when blocking an image, I would give 10/10 easily.

I am using adblock plus, i think it's the best firefox add no ever!

i use it and always have, it came up as one of the recommended things when i first started using firefox, it is really useful, although you cannot see what is at work, i havn't had many popups at all. I get popups when i go on those sites which bring up the webmessenger thing at the bottom right, of a preprogrammed message, whenever i press the x on these it comes up with a damned popup!
