Computer Crashes While Watching Videos

Post by youngmisterketch on Mon 01 Jun 2009, 10:37 am

This has been going on for awhile. Usually anything from a site-specific video player(Comedy Central, NBC, Hulu, but not usually YouTube) will play for a little bit, then my computer will just crash. Lately, a new wrinkle is that instead of re-starting, the computer will just re-boot and then immediately crash again. This seems to coincide from when I added a gig of RAM to the computer. It's a HP pavillion, a704

Hello,

Try removing the RAM and see if this problem still occurs.

Doctor Inferno,

If you take out ram, then wouldnt that slow down the computer more and therefore will cause the computer to freeze?

I'm troubleshooting the problem since the poster said that this problem started to happen when the new RAM was plugged in. RAM incompatibility could also cause the system to slow down.
