install locks up at 87%

Post by WarChief on Mon 02 Nov 2009, 7:20 am

trying to reinstall XP on my PC. I have 4 drives on this computer. Drive C is used just for storage and D for XP system, drive E has windows & installed on it and F has another copy of XP. nȯne of the drives will boot into their prospective os and doing a search online it was recomended to check memory. I did so finding I had 3 bad simms. replaced them with 4 new 1 gig simms. Had to remove 2 gig to even get setup to function at all. Now it stops responding when checking C drive at 87%
