connecting a tv to a netbook

Post by jaggerzz on Mon 27 Jul 2009, 3:28 am

I bought the acer aspire netbook. and it has a monitor out slot. But when I connect it to my 40" hd tv I get no signal. How do I get it so I can use my tv as a monitor? It is running windows xp

You could use PC to TV hardware which sets it up wirelessly. Its great and easy to use.

Don't know if this still needs fixing.

Things to try:
Try changing the Resolution, a Resolution that the TV can not handle will result in "no signal"

make sure Secondary monitor is Enabled - There may be a button on your keyboard that enables it.

Posting your exact laptop model, i can explain more accurately on what to do .

to output from the Netbook you would use a VGA cable.

Could you tell me what make and model the TV is you want to connect it to, and i will tell you if it will plug directly into the TV.

Hello,

You would need to get a VGA to HDMI converter.
