This did not go away. We did get rid of it thanks Geekpolice. My question is what is the best and most economical anti-virus/spyware I should use?

In an effort to install Cox security suite, one of the routes I took was to do a system restore to try to get to the point before Norton was installed. When I did the system restore, for some reason I think Norton, which was installed on the date I did the restore to, is blocking the internet connection. Is there any way to remove Norton without an internet connection?

i don't know how many of you know okcupid.com - it's a dating site which i visited a lot about a year ago, and then again about a month ago. after a few days of loging in without a problem, i logged in - mcafee pulled up a warning about a trojan, and said it had cleaned it (it didn't) my computer rebooted, and went into a reboot loop. eventually i had to wipe out my hard drive and re-install everything.

I just want to throw this question out here. Whenever someone posts saying they can't open a file with the extension .exe, the responses say to download hijackthis. How can someone download a file that has .exe attached to it if the virus won't let them open it?

I have mistakenly posted how I got past this problem in a couple threads, and I apologize, it won't happen again.

But I just wanted to post this question, because to me it is confusing.
