Re: best to leave computer on or turn it off
It's better to turn it off. Because;
1. You save electricity. When you save electricity, you save money and save the planet.
2. Your hardware lasts longer.
Why would you want to leave it on anyway?

Leaving it on also eventually cause it's to run out of virtual memory (rebooting fixes that), but forces you to reboot anyhow.

Re: best to leave computer on or turn it off
i leave mine on nearly 24/7 (i have my reasons) because with mine as its a HTPC i watch my TV through it and everything. I do reboot it alot to keep it running smoothly.
with hardware, it is given a lifespan ie. 50,000 hours (like the capacitors on my motherboard) , therfore you would go through these hours alot faster by leaving it on when you are not using it.
i suppose its a matter of opinion, if you are actually using it by having it on all the time then loosing these hours & electricity money wont be a waste.
if not then i would certainly shut it down.
