A new Virus Removal Program

Post by Windows.7.Tester on Mon 27 Jul 2009, 6:59 pm

Hello, I am a pretty experienced C++ programmer and I started to learn Win32 API, currently I am working on a Virus Removal Program, that just searches the System32 folder for any files with a certain name, for right now I only have half of the GUI down, but I need some help writing the script to search for the file names, if someone who knows Win32 API or C++ knows a way to do this, please PM me or leave a reply to this thread below.

Thanks

Allright, I am probably going to release it as Freeware at first, but if it gets more popular I will make a paid version too, if I get lots of support here, if there is a paid version I will give it to everyone on this forum for free.

Don't delete the whole System32 folder.

Malwarebytes developer RubbeR DuckY told me long ago, he went to make part of the program, and ended up deleting his own System32 folder.

Haha. That stinks. But really, you know the Mbam developer? That's pretty intense.

*EDITED*

Also, Good luck on making the Antivirus. Gotta give props to people who can "Code"

Hehe, yeah. There's a few of us here who hang around the MBAM forum, just incase false positives show up so we can report them quickly.

Ha,that's cool. Thanks for being so quick to help with my problem. I'll be posting the Mbam Log as soon as it's done.

But yeah. I was thinking you knew that guy in person, and was like" Lucky."

I do not know him in person, but he is very serious. He is really young, but very professional, like me.

I have only encountered him once or twice.

There are no facilities in C++ for searching for files.
You will have to use platform specific functions.
Please read the welcome.txt in my signature as well
as these sections of the FAQ:
