Is it okay to have several virus protections

I have just downloaded the Avira Anti-Virus personal and Super Anti-Spyware and I already had Malwarebyes. I was wondering if it was okay to have all them on my computer and if I needed to download a firewall protection software also. I also would really like to have internet security and protection, is there any out there for free that work well?

Comodo offers a suite that sometimes works well, comodo.com
(You would have to uninstall Avira, because Comodo has antivirus built in)

Or this would be a good setup with a few programs, instead:

• Keep Avira Antivir as an Antivirus. *
  
• Keep Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware as scanners only, and use them from time to time.
  
• I almost always recommend someone to have a firewall, and the only one that works very well paired with Avira, is Outpost, agnitum.com. * (Optionally, use PC Tools Firewall Plus, pctools.com)
  
• Spyware Terminator, spywareterminator.com, is the only good and free antispyware, that has on-access protection as well.*

*=Essential for good security. But, only one of each type of realtime protection is recommended. That means, only one antivirus, one antispyware, and one firewall with On-Access protection. It is okay to have scanners only, which are Malwarebytes or SuperAntiSpyware - as long as they are the free versions. If you were to run more than one of any type, the computer would crash or give inaccurate scanning results, etc.

You are welcome. I just tried to IM you with a question but I dont know if you got it. I just downloaded the spyware terminator like you suggested but I havent completed it yet. It is asking me how I would like to use this program and it gives me 3 options: 1) Scan for spyware 2) protect against spyware 3) Protect against spyware and viruses(which says install real-time sheild with ClamAV, which sounds like a anti-virus program).. Which one do I choose? I didnt know if I could choose the last one because I have Avira.

So it is okay to have Spyware Terminator, Avira, Outpost, Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware? Having all them wont crash my computer? Sorry for all the questions I just dont know a whole lot about computers. I have one more for you, when I scan with Avira it does not give me an option to remove the things that it detected, do I need to download the Avira removal tool to remove them?

Those won't crash.

Use all of them. Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware are just scanners in their free versions.

In Spyware Terminator, disregard ClamAV, because the engine for Windows is not done cooking yet. It is still developing.

The Web Security Guard only slowed my old computer down. Disregard that as well.

Do I need to turn Windows Defender off since I downloaded Outpost and all that other stuff?

Ok. Ad-Aware is a very good antispyware and malware remover. So is AVG. Use Ad-Aware as a scan only and make sure realtime protection is turned off for it. Otherwise, both of those will have conflicts.

True...I only found out a month ago and i removed it from computer to free up space..
