Hello,

FOR AntiVirus:

1) Antivir PersonalEditionClassic
-Free anti-virus software for Windows.
-Detects and removes more than 50,000 viruses. Free support.
2) avast! 4 Home Edition
-Anti-virus program for Windows.
-The home edition is freeware for noncommercial user.

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts.

FOR Antispyware:

SuperAntiSpyware - Awesome for on demend scanning, is updated everyday, good detection rate.

Malware bytes anti-malware - Same reason.

Hello,

AVG reports more false positives than the ones mentioned above, which is why we recommend Avira and Avast.

Yes, both protect for different reasons so there are unlikely to be conflicts

My Mcafee runs out today and I don't really want to pay £40 for a one year renewal. So what is the procedure to remove Mcafee and then in install Antivir?

Do I literally uninstall Mcafee and then upload Antivir?

Also (just an example) % wise if Mcafee is 99% protection compliant against threats, what would antivir be roughly? 85%?

Instructions to remove McAFee completely can be found here:

http://www.geekpolice.net/tutorials-guides-f13/completely-remove-norton-avast-avg-kaspersky-mcafee-nod32-f-secure-t1180.htm

Once you run the McAFee uninstall too, simply install Avira.
