avoiding a trojan on a specific site (okcupid.com)
hi,
i don't know how many of you know okcupid.com - it's a dating site which i visited a lot about a year ago, and then again about a month ago. after a few days of loging in without a problem, i logged in - mcafee pulled up a warning about a trojan, and said it had cleaned it (it didn't) my computer rebooted, and went into a reboot loop. eventually i had to wipe out my hard drive and re-install everything.
now, obviously this doesn't happen frequently, since okcupid is a huge site. is there anyway to tell my mcafee to block anything the site sends, so as not to downlod trojans, but still view the site?

Hi
I am testing the site right now. If found malware, signature will be sent to all A-V companies.
I will report back if found malware.

The site did not test positive for malware.
It must have been another exploit, possibly in the browser.
Is Flash and Adobe Reader (if you have them), up to date? Is your browser up to date (Windows Updates)?

Hi
From what I see, the site uses a badware advertising network. It has nothing to do with the site itself. Malware writers these days are using drive-by download techniques more often, especially in ads. The best way to block these ads is to do one of the following free methods:

- Use Adblock Plus for Firefox: http://adblockplus.org/en/installation
